Thank you for taking the time to see what vacancies we have here in Haringey.

Haringey is a very interesting place to work. When we have asked our social workers about what makes them want to work here they have told us that they find the breadth and variety of work is both interesting, rewarding and enables them to develop their practice in ways that they may not experience in other places.

In July 2014 Ofsted published their findings following the new single inspection framework inspection of Haringey Children's Services. The service was placed in the category "Requires Improvement", however Inspectors did report that there are no wide spread or serious failures. They were also impressed by the quality of assessments and casework in Haringey and commented that social workers have manageable caseloads and are motivated and positive about working in Haringey.

We are excited about the improvements that we have made and our continuing journey to achieve "Good". We are keen to attract similarly motivated social workers to join us to make a real difference to the lives of our young people and families. We want people who are confident in their practice and relish the challenge of continuous improvement to achieve our ambition for children to be healthy, thrive and achieve.

We have reviewed our recruitment process to improve the information that we provide to you on this micro site. We have also speeded up the process so that suitable applicants will be interviewed and start with us very quickly. We have done our best to describe the various services because we know that it is important for you to be able to understand how the services and teams work in making your decision to apply.

We offer competitive salaries, generous terms and conditions of service and modern offices located opposite Wood Green tube station.

I would encourage you to look at the profiles on the following pages and very much hope that you feel encouraged to apply to join us. We look forward to receiving your completed application!

With very best wishes

Jon Abbey
